Regardless of income or job stability, getting by is still a struggle for many of us. More than 40% of Americans have a FICO score that's considered subprime, and about 78% live paycheck to paycheck, according to the Harris Poll for CareerBuilder 2017 and the FICO Banking Analysis. Many people feel like they can't or don't want to use credit cards as a traditional form of payment. And still others are trying to recover from debt, divorce, addiction or other life changes. The Open Door Coalition was formed to help educate the public about alternative purchase options.
